Favorite site:

My favorite site was the “Top of the Rock” in New York City because you could see all around New York with all of the buildings and Central Park. It was really pretty!

Tell us about your Program Leader:

Mr. Bannister was my homeroom/social studies/language arts teacher. During the year he taught us about the Civil War battles. It was exciting to be able to walk exactly where many of the battles we learned about in class took place. This was his 17th year leading this trip so he had lots of information to share with us not only about Gettysburg but about all of the sites we visited.

Favorite memory:

Times Square. It was so amazingly busy even at night and everyone was really excited to go there after going to see the Blue Man Group! We didn’t get there until late at night and it was so bright from all of the lights and advertisements all around. Nighttime is the best time to see Times Square. I also got to see what musicals were playing on Broadway. We even got to take our group photo in the middle of Times Square with all of the lights and billboards around us.

Overall impression of the trip:

I would do it again in a heartbeat. It was the trip of a lifetime! Everything was scheduled so no time was wasted. The hotels were nice even though we didn’t have much time to spend there. I would say to definitely do it!

Anything else you want to say:

 I thought the buses were great.  You never have to worry about parking and you have a secure place to leave your things while you are sightseeing. Our D.C. driver Johnnie was the best. He would drop us off at one location and know just when to pick us up, sometimes a couple of miles away from where we started.
