Safety and Security

On a WorldStrides program to Costa Rica your child’s safety and security are our Number 1 priority!

Certified, 24- hour Course Leader
When your child arrives in Costa Rica, his/her group is met by a bilingual WorldStrides’ Course Leader.  This certified Costa Rican naturalist travels with the group throughout their WorldStrides program. The Course Leader is responsible for overseeing not only the educational content of the program, but the trip logistics as well. During the day, the Course Leader assists the Program Leader and Chaperones in ensuring that all safety precautions are taken when rafting, zip lining, or participating in any other group activity. At curfew, your Course Leader will ensure the students are safely in their rooms.

24-hour Local Support

Two local offices in Costa Rica ensure that a staff member is available to groups 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Selection of Suppliers
WorldStrides contracts with only major airline companies, and we regularly review all of our suppliers, from hotels to meal locations to bus companies, for customer satisfaction and quality.

Prior to Departure
Teachers and chaperones establish rules of behavior before and during a WorldStrides program. Before the group departs, each student is required to complete a Behavior Contract and a Medical Release Form. These forms ensure that all students understand the conduct that is expected of them while on tour and provides WorldStrides with emergency contact information and authorization for treatment in the case of an emergency.

Emergency Cards
Each student will also be given an ID tag that includes important toll-free phone nu
mbers to contact in the case of an emergency.
