Sacramento/Gold Rush
Sample itinerary
DAY 1
Group arrives in Sacramento and is met by a
WorldStrides representative.
California State Capitol Building
Students will see their state legislature in action and
may get the opportunity to meet with state
representatives.
California Vietnam Veterans Memorial
This $2.5 million memorial, designed by a Vietnam
Veteran, was dedicated in 1988.
Sutters Fort
Built by Swiss immigrant John Sutter more than 150
years ago, students will relive the Gold Rush and
understand its effects on the United States and the
world.
Lunch
Travel to Coloma, CA
Marshall Gold Discovery Park
Students will see the original spot where gold was
found. They will interact with interpreters to fully
understand the significance of the discovery and they
will be given a chance to pan for gold.
Pan for gold in the American River
Dinner
Group departs for home.
Note: Travel time from different parts of the state may modify
this itinerary.
