DAY 1
Group arrives in Sacramento and is met by a
WorldStrides representative.
California State Capitol Building
Students will see their state legislature in action and
may get the opportunity to meet with state
representatives (available upon appointment).
California Vietnam Veterans Memorial
This $2.5 million memorial, designed by a Vietnam
Veteran, was dedicated in 1988.
Lunch
Sutters Fort
Built by Swiss immigrant John Sutter more than 150
years ago, students will relive the Gold Rush and
understand its effects on the United States and the
world.
Old Sacramento
Authentic Wagon Ride
Students ride the cobblestone streets as they did in Old
Sacramento during the 1800s.
Old Schoolhouse Museum
Students will appreciate the differences between their
classes and the ones of pioneer students after
participating in an 1850s schoolhouse lesson.
California State Railroad Museum
The Transcontinental Railroad helped unite the United
States. Students will learn the economic, political,
social, and ecological transformations caused by the
Transcontinental Railroad.
Dinner
Group departs Sacramento for home.
