Group arrives in Sacramento and is
met by a WorldStrides
representative.
Travel to Coloma, CA
Olde Coloma Theatre
Students will participate in a Gold
Rush melodrama learning historical
and life lessons.
Lunch
Marshall Gold Discovery Park
Students will see the original spot
where gold was found. They will
interact with interpreters to fully
understand the significance of the
discovery, and they will be given a
chance to pan for gold.
Pan for gold in the American River

Travel to San Francisco
Ferry to Alcatraz Island
Alcatraz Island
Students will learn about the strategic
importance of Alcatraz during the
Civil War, and its transformation into
the famed prison.
Lunch
Pier 39
Students have free time to explore
the sites and scenes of Pier 39,
located on San Francisco’s
embarcadero.
Cable Car Ride
Soak in the sites of the city as you
ride on San Francisco’s historic cable
cars
Exploratorium
Students will enjoy this world-famous
interactive science museum with over
650 hands-on exhibits.
Dinner
Group departs San Francisco for
home.
