Group arrives in Sacramento and is met by a
WorldStrides representative.
Sutters Fort
Built by Swiss immigrant John Sutter more
than 150 years ago, students will relive the
Gold Rush and understand its effects on the
United States and the world.
Lunch
Travel to Coloma, CA
Check into camp
Camp Activities
Students will immerse themselves into the
lives of the pioneers. They will find out why
people migrated to California, and the
struggles they faced. Students will eat
pioneer foods, make pioneer crafts, and
interact with interpreters to learn first-hand
about the earliest California America settlers.

Native American presentation including

Mountain Man presentation
Learn about tinsmithing and create a
souvenir
Check out of camp
Marshall Gold Discovery Park
Students will see the original spot where gold
was found. They will interact with interpreters
to fully understand the significance of the
discovery, and how it affected the
development of the State of California, and
the entire World.
Lunch
Olde Coloma Theatre
Students will participate in a Gold Rush
melodrama learning historical and life
lessons.
Travel to Sacramento
California State Capitol Building
Students will see their state capitol in action
and may get the opportunity to meet with
state representatives.
California Vietnam Veterans Memorial
This $2.5 million memorial, designed by a
Vietnam Veteran, was dedicated in 1988.
Dinner
Group departs Sacramento for home.
Note: Travel time from different parts of the state
