La Costa Brava
La Cost Brava or "The Wild Coast" is the on the northern coastal region of Spain located in the province of Girona. The warm summer climate and beautiful beaches lend themselves to a bustling tourism industry for Northern Europeans and the United Kingdom. Small towns in the area have kept their traditional "fishing town" persona and were considered hidden gems by artists such as Salvador Dalí and Pablo Picasso.

Fun Fact

  • In 1998 the Carta de Tossa charter vowed to pursue environmental protection along with tourism. This recognized the value of the region's wide range of natural habitats and micro-climates.  The charter also inspired Spain's first maritime nature reserve with a wide range of fish and acquatic flora, while helping save the land from development.
