Catedral de la Seu
The construction of La Seu began in 343AD during the Roman Empire, only to be destroyed by the Moors and then rebuilt by the Romans. The architecture of the cathedral switched from Romanesque to Gothic in 1298 and the latest addition, the central spire, was completed in 1913. The Romanesque chapel of Santa Llúcia remains in the cloister next to the cathedral. The crypt contains the remains of Santa Eulàlia, the first patron saint of Barcelona. The cathedral is dedicated to Santa Eulàlia and the white geese perched in the 14th century cloister are said to represent her purity.
