Montmartre
The spectacular village atmosphere of Montmartre has remained remarkably intact with its hill, small streets, vineyard, and lively atmosphere at Place du Tertre (the old village square). Montmartre was the Mecca for artists, writers, and poets in the 19th century. At the Sacré Coeur Church, the highest point in Paris, there is a wonderful view of the city. Don't forget to try a traditional crepe!
