Stratford-upon-Avon, House on Henley Street, Anne Hathaway’s Cottage
Stratford-upon-Avon is the birthplace of William Shakespeare, located in the town of Warwickshire on the banks of the Avon River.  It remains one of the biggest tourist destinations in the UK.  The House on Henley Street is Stratford-upon-Avon’s most cherished tour attraction.  The half-timbered house is the birthplace of William Shakespeare, settled on Henley Street.  For over 200 years, fans of theater and literature have been making the pilgrimage to the houses of Stratford.  Anne Hathaway was William Shakespeare’s wife.  She was believed to have grown up in Shottery, a small village in Warwickshire, but lived most of her life in the “cottage” in Stratford-upon-Avon.  Referring to her home as a cottage doesn’t really do the structure justice, as it is has twelve rooms, three chimneys, and several lovely gardens.
