U.S. History Williamsburg

Students step on to America's historical stage to encounter our heroes and discover significant events in our nation's story. Colonial life, the establishment of constitutional governments and the development of our national character are the themes in which students become players in the dramatic history of our country.

Experience the drama of the American Revolution as you visit a re-created Continental Army encampment in Yorktown. In Jamestown, relive the adventure of America's first permanent colony as you explore a full-scale replica of a colonial fort, board re-creations of the three ships that carried the settlers to Virginia, and investigate the Powhatan Indian village. In Williamsburg, students engage in a variety of hands-on activities while they interact with costumed historical interpreters and watch craftsmen use colonial methods in crafts ranging from wig making to blacksmith work. Action-packed days are accompanied by fun and educational evening activities.
