Sweepstakes is open to legal residents of the United States, under the age of 21 at time of entry.

  1. To Enter: To enter the Sweepstakes, visit http://www.worldstrides.com and go to the “Discover Science Trivia Contest” page of our Student section. There are four (4) contests, one contest for each science “Virtual Tour.” All individuals who register for the contest and answer at least eight (8) questions correctly will be eligible to win the Grand Prize, First Prizes, or Second Prizes. All individuals who register for the contest will be eligible to win the Third Prizes. Answers to the questions are based solely on the information contained in the “Virtual Tour.” The correct answers will be posted on http://www.worldstrides.com on or about Friday, November 5, 2004 . Sweepstakes begins Thursday, August 12, 2004  at 12 pm (Eastern Time) and ends on Monday, November 1, 2004  at 12 pm (Eastern Time). Entries must be received by 12 pm (Eastern Time) on the day contest ends. All participants must submit a valid e-mail address to participate in the prize drawing. Entries with an invalid e-mail address are invalid. Only one entry allowed per person. E-mail addresses are used solely for the quiz and will not be shared with or sold to third parties. Multiple entries from the same e-mail address are void and will be ignored. WorldStrides retains the right to disqualify entries from a user suspected of attempting to disrupt the Sweepstakes and retains the right to seek legal redress against anyone suspected of engaging in these acts. All entries become property of WorldStrides. WorldStrides is not responsible for late, lost, or misdirected entries. WorldStrides is not responsible for technical, hardware, software, or telephone malfunctions of any kind, lost, or unavailable network connections, or failed, incorrect, incomplete, inaccurate, garbled, or delayed electronic communications caused by the sender, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in this Sweepstakes which may limit the ability to play or participate, or by any human error which may occur in the processing of the entries in this Sweepstakes. If for any reason, (including infection by computer virus, bugs, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other cause beyond the control of WorldStrides, which corrupts or affects the administration, security, fairness, integrity, or proper conduct of this Sweepstakes), the online or portion of the Sweepstakes is not capable of being conducted as described in these rules, WorldStrides shall have the right, at its discretion, to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the Sweepstakes. Should the Sweepstakes be terminated prior to the stated end date, WorldStrides reserves the right to conduct a random drawing to award the prizes using all eligible, non-suspect entries received as of the action requiring such termination.

    Alternate Method of Entry: (No purchase necessary to enter or win. Purchase will not improve your chances of winning.) Print your name, e-mail address, and parent or guardian’s e-mail address on a 3”x5” index card or piece of paper and mail it to: “Discover Science Trivia Contest Sweepstakes”, WorldStrides, 590 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300 , Charlottesville , VA 22911 . Mail-in entries must be postmarked by Friday, October 15, 2004 and received by Monday, November 1, 2004 . Qualified entries received via the alternate method of entry will be eligible to win the Grand Prizes, First Prizes, Second Prizes, and Third Prizes. Limit one entry per person, regardless of method of entry. Entrants who attempt to enter multiple times will be disqualified. Entries that have been photocopied and/or mechanically reproduced are void. All entries become the property of WorldStrides and will not be returned. Entries will be rejected if not obtained in accordance with these rules. WorldStrides is not responsible for late, lost, mutilated, damaged, postage-due, or misdirected entries.

  2. Random Drawing. On or about Friday, November 5, 2004, one (1) Grand Prize winner per contest; ten (10) First Prize winners per contest; twenty (20) Second Prize winners per contest; Twenty-five (25) Third Prizes per contest will be chosen in a random drawing conducted by WorldStrides’ marketing department from all eligible entries. Winners will be notified by e-mail and asked to provide a mailing address to be used by WorldStrides solely for the purpose of delivering the Prize. If there are not enough correct entries to award all of the prizes, the remaining prizes will be awarded based on a random drawing from eligible and completed entries with the most correct answers.

    Grand Prize: For each contest, all entries correctly answering at least eight (8) questions correctly will be entered in a random drawing to select a Grand Prize winner. First Prizes: For each of the contests, all entries correctly answering at least eight (8) questions correctly and not randomly selected as Grand Prize winners will be entered in a random drawing to select First Prize winners. Second Prizes: For each of the contests, all entries correctly answering at least eight (8) questions correctly and not randomly selected as Grand Prize or First Prize winners will be entered in a random drawing to select Second Prize winners. Third Prizes: For each of the contests, all entries received that have not been randomly selected as Grand Prize, First Prize, or Second Prize winners will be entered in a random drawing to select Third Prize winners.

  3. Prizes. One (1) Grand Prize per contest, four (4) in total:  DVD Player; Approximate Retail Value of prize: $100. Ten (10) First Prizes per contest, forty (40) in total: Digital Camera; Approximate Retail Value of prize: $75. Twenty (20) Second Prizes per contest, eighty (80) in total: WorldStrides Backpack; Approximate Retail Value of prize: $20. Twenty-five (25) Third Prizes per contest, one hundred (100) in total: WorldStrides CD Cases; Approximate Retail Value: $10. Prizes are subject to change based on availability. Any expense not specifically stated as being included is the sole responsibility of winner. Odds of winning depend upon the number of qualifying entries received.

  4. General. Employees and contractors of WorldStrides, their immediate family members (spouse, parents, children, and siblings, regardless of where they live) or members of the same households of such employees, and directors (whether or not related) , subsidiaries, and affiliates, and their printing, fulfillment, and production suppliers, are not eligible to enter. Void in Puerto Rico and where otherwise prohibited by law. No cash substitutions, transfer or assignment of prizes allowed, except by WorldStrides, who reserves the right to substitute prize in its sole discretion due to prize unavailability, for any reason, and then only for a prize of equal or greater value. Limit one prize per person or e-mail address. Prizes can only be shipped to the individual who was selected as a prize winner. By accepting prize, winners (if winner is a minor, his/her parent/legal guardian) grant to WorldStrides the right to use may use his/her name, address (city, state), likeness, biographical information, and/or prize information in advertising and promotion without further compensation or permission. Each winner will be required to sign and return an affidavit of eligibility and publicity/liability release (unless prohibited) within fifteen (15) days of notification attempt or prize may be awarded to an alternate. Winners will be notified by mail. If notification is returned as undeliverable, winners’ e-mail is invalid, or WorldStrides does not receive a response within fifteen (15) days of notification attempt , WorldStrides will choose an alternate winner. All taxes and any other expenses on the receipt and use of prizes are the sole responsibility of the winners. By accepting a prize, each winner (if winner is a minor, his/her parent/legal guardian) releases WorldStrides and its respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, subsidiaries, suppliers, and the directors, officers, employees, contractors, and agencies of any of the above entities from any and all liability for any loss, harm, damages, cost or expense, including without limitation, property damages, personal injury and/or death, arising out of participation in this Sweepstakes or the acceptance, use, or misuse of the prize. Any personal information supplied by you to WorldStrides will be subject to WorldStrides’ privacy policies and terms of service posted at http://www.worldstrides.com.
