Students discover how it would
feel to seek their fortune in early California by reenacting
the adventures experienced by the pioneers. With the aid of
costumed interpreters, students pan for gold, dance with Native
Americans, and make crafts along the banks of the American River.
Old Sacramento and San Francisco provide additional insights
to the California experience and create an awareness of the
courage and contributions made by various ethnic groups in settling
this great state.
